Overview of the visual and technical choices that shaped the final look
A soft contrast look designed to feel elegant and contemporary. The palette mixes deep navy and charcoal hues with warm skin tones and amber accents, giving the piece a sense of refinement.
Skin tones are kept natural and clean, avoiding oversaturation or color bias. Exposure is shaped to give dimension to the face and suit textures without breaking the realistic mood.
Outdoor, indoor, and transitional shots were matched to feel cohesive despite very different lighting conditions. Color temperature, contrast, and exposure were unified so the narrative flows cleanly from the street to the tailoring studio.
Reuel-Eli James DirectorI had been sitting on this footage for a long time, unsure whether it truly captured the mood and feeling behind its creation. That uncertainty led to multiple planned and cancelled reshoots as my team and I tried to understand how to move forward.
Giuseppe came in as a last minute but extremely welcomed addition. His involvement pushed me to finally assemble a rough cut, and the back-and-forth we had on the edit helped me see the previously unrealised potential of the project.
He did an amazing job with the grade. Beyond the quality of his work, having him on board took a huge weight off my shoulders. This was a project that had been stuck in the pipeline for a while, and letting a fresh pair of eyes handle the look allowed me to breathe and see it from a new perspective.
I would absolutely recommend his services. He knows exactly what he’s doing, and he does it very well, which saved me the time I simply didn’t have to sort through the grade myself. I’d happily pass his contact to other creatives in need of a dedicated colourist, someone who can give a project the attention it deserves, especially when the final look plays such a crucial role in bringing a creative vision to life.
If you’d like a grade with this level of attention to look, consistency and visual storytelling, let’s talk.
